Makes 1 large rectangular pizza or 2 12 inch round pizzas.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
Preparation:
- In a cup, combine 1 tablespoon active dry yeast and 1 cup warm water. Allow to soak for a few minutes.
- Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon sugar and 1 teaspoon salt in food processor fitted with a steel blade.
- Pour in water and yeast mixture and add 1 tablespoons olive oil.
- Pulse processor until dough turns tough.
- Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Form dough into ball and place in greased bowl.
- Cover and let rise until doubled.
- Press dough on board or pull into shape: one large cookie sheet size rectangle or two 12 inch circles (or whatever shape you can imagine).
- Place on cornmeal dusted baking sheets.
- Top as desired and bake in a preheated 450 degree Fahrenheit oven for 15-25 minutes.
